This is a simple method to see if your antivirus is working properly.
1- Open your Notepad.
2- Paste this line
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*
3- Save the file as virus.exe
If are all good, the antivirus must detect this test.
